Benecol #WHATSYOURNUMBER

Looks like we’re all out!

Thanks so much for taking the time to apply for a test kit, we’re so sorry to say that we’re all out. As much as we’d love to make sure everyone in Ireland knows their number, we just couldn’t make that many kits available.

If you’re still keen on knowing your number, we’d suggest that you get in touch with a pharmacist or your GP to book a test. For more info on cholesterol, management, and understanding your number, please read more below.

Basic facts on cholesterol

A small amount of cholesterol is necessary for your physical wellbeing but excess can be harmful. Your body produces the cholesterol it needs through your liver. Many foods are rich in cholesterol, such as meat, fatty cheese, butter and eggs.

LDL cholesterol or low-density lipoprotein transfers cholesterol from your liver to your tissues but the higher the amount of cholesterol in your blood, the bigger the probability that cholesterol gets deposited in the artery walls.
